Topic:Evaluation of the Fit of Titanium Prosthesis Fabricated by Selective Laser Melting(SLM)

The most commonly used method of making metal dental prostheses is still investment casting. It can not meet the demands of fast and efficient prostheses making nowadays.Though the application of CAD/CAM has greatly increased the efficiency, only crown or fixed bridge could be made for its special process. With the emergency of 3D priting, fast making metal prosthesis with free-defects is becoming possible. The objective of this research is to devolope a newly CAD-based, selective laser melting method in making Ti crowns, Ti denture framework and prosthesis framework. The SLM can satisfy the clinical requirements.


Biography:

Professor,   Prosthodontics Dept. of Stomatological School, Fourth Military Medical University. 1998-2000   Postdoctoral Fellowship in Materials Processing and Engineering, Northwest Polytechnical University. 1993-1998  Ph.D., Fourth Military Medical University. Has been Vice Director Society of Digital Dentistry of Chinese Stomatological Association. Has specialized in the area of  dental CAD/CAM technology, especially in 3-D printing. The research works have been supported by  National Natural Science Foundation of China and China's "863" High-Tech Program. Over 15 technical SCI papers were published. Two Invention patents about 3-D printing dental prosthesis has attained the authority of Chinese National Patent Office.
